Opium Poppy Flowers  were  very popular  because of their seeds.  The seeds are used for making traditional pies in Slavic cuisine.   But liquid of green poppies was also known as sleeping mixture.  Sometimes women gave it to  children, who  were sick or cried constantly… No need to mention that babies  could fall asleep forever.

Poppy flower is powerful symbol in Slavic culture.
